A Much Needed Day of Fun

Thankfully, this morning LG woke up feeling fine.  After we said goodbye to Tio Paco, Aunt D, and a few other friends, we decided to head into the town of Malaga (the town where we are, but we haven't really seen) and take a look around.  Malaga, by the way, is the birthplace of Picaso.

LG had a good time at the beach again, and then she got to have a snack of animal crackers (her first time eating these) thanks to some goodies that were left by the people who taught LG's VBS.

Enjoy the pics!  We can't wait to get home tomorrow.

First Major Sickness of This Kind

Well, we had one day of uneventfulness yesterday, but poor LG suffered again today.

She has been enjoying her VBS time each day we have been here, and although we are exhausted from meetings and odd hours to eat, yesterday was not too bad.  Unfortunately, yesterday some of the kids started throwing up.  This afternoon, it hit LG.

LG was taking her nap this afternoon.  Aunt D and I were in the hallway knitting (yes, I am trying to learn how to knit), and we suddenly heard LG calling hysterically for me.  We ran into the room, and she was standing up in her crib with her arms outstretched to me.  I picked up her, Aunt D grabbed her worm and kitty (her sleep animals), and we all 3 settled down on the bed to rest.

It wasn't long until we found out why LG had called me.  She suddenly threw up red vomit all over me, herself, the bed, her sleep animals, everything!  Of course, we were all three freaked out, but I determined the vomit was red because of jello and plums she had at lunch and not from blood.  Aunt D drew a bath for LG, and I stripped LG down, threw away her clothes, and sat her in the bathtub.  Aunt D did a good job of bathing LG and calming her down.  I then tackled removing all the bedding and putting it on our balcony (oh! the stench!).  I grabbed LG's sleep animals and soaked them in the sink.  I hope they can be saved, but I have my doubts.  The red is just not coming out.  Then, I changed my clothes.

We got LG out of the tub, and put her in comfy clothes.  Aunt D and I decided we would just miss the last sessions tonight and hang out with LG.  The boys had gone into town to snoop around, so Aunt D texted them to buy LG a new sleep toy and to forget about going to the last few sessions, as well.  Daddy and Tio Paco purchase a big, soft, snugly penguin, which LG loves, and went right to sleep with.

It has been a long conference that seemed like it would never end with all the mishaps to LG.  I think we need another holiday.  Tomorrow everyone leaves, but we will stay on one more day because our flight was cheaper if we left a day later.  We will see how LG feels in the morning.

Second Major Accident

This morning LG woke up in a good mood, and you would have not known that she had a horrible fall yesterday and broke two teeth.  She was running around our room in her footed pj's (that have grippies on the feet), when she suddenly fell again on our room's marble flooring!  Her mouth began to bleed all over again, and she was hysterical again!  I don't think she had any more damage to her teeth, but can this week get any worse?!!!!!!

First Major Accident

This morning we all loaded up, moved out, and checked in to the conference center where we will have work meetings for the rest of the week.  B had to great people as they arrived, so we spent most of the afternoon in the hotel lobby.

When supper time rolled around, we were happy to see that the buffet offered plenty of things for LG and me (since I'm pregnant) to eat.  The only problem is that meal time is right around LG's normal bed time, so she was a bit cranky because she was tired and hungry.

We fed LG first, and then I left B at the table, while I took LG on up to the room for the night.  On the way out of the cafeteria, LG tripped and landed face first on the marble flooring (which is the norm in Spain).  She was hysterical, and to make matters worse, a well meaning Spanish man rushed over and picked her up.  She didn't want him, she wanted me!  Anyway, I got her, and we started rushing to our room, when I noticed that her mouth was bleeding!  I totally freaked out and told our bosses wife, who I happened to be passing in the hall, to find B and have him to come our room.

When we got to the room, I had LG drink something to help calm her down.  I changed her blood soaked clothes, and thankfully, B came quickly to the room.  When LG finally calmed down enough to open her mouth for us to see what had happened, it was horrifying.  Her front two teeth both have lost a large chip in the center of her mouth.  We gave her some Paracetamol/Tylenol to help with the pain, but we both feel so awful.  Poor LG!

Last Day of Holiday

Today was our last day of holiday.  Thankfully, it was another beautiful, warm day.  Tomorrow we pack up and go to a company meeting about an hour from here.

We spent the day doing what we have enjoyed most here...shopping and hanging out at the beach.  The boys kept LG this morning at the beach, while Aunt D and I did a bit of shopping.  I finished all my Christmas shopping in one fell swoop!  Yippee!

Here are pictures of LG loving her beach time.  :)

We also went back to the shopping center we found Sunday to do a bit of shopping.  I got some pregnancy clothes because nothing fits me now.   :)

Mini Road Trip

This morning it was cold and rainy again so we all decided to take the van out and go exploring.

First we went west and discovered a Burger King (we ate there for lunch) and a shopping center with one of mine and Aunt D's favorite shops.  We will have to come back here again!

After lunch, LG took a nap, and we all headed north-west to the Sierra Navada mountains.  They were beautiful, and we saw snow!

When we returned home, Miss LG demanded, "My beach!" again.  So, even though it was still a bit cooler than earlier in the week, we obliged her and went to the beach again.  Tio Paco took some great  pics of her before we headed to the beach.  Thanks, Tio Paco!

LG finally decided she really liked the water thanks to the help of Aunt D!

When she stopped splashing around, she put her robe on and had a good time digging in the sand.

This evening we had a traditional El Camino de Santiago cake.  One day we hope to walk the Camino, but until then the cake was really yummy!

Ice Cream Cones!

Today it turned cooler, and it rained.  We didn't make it to the beach, but we did get out in the morning to explore a few shops. (Just so you know, that is a Diet Coke that Daddy is drinking.)  :)

On the way back, we stopped in for some take away ice cream.  It started pouring down rain before we made it home, so while we took cover, LG enjoyed finishing off Mommy's ice cream cone.  :)

After LG's nap, she enjoyed hanging out in the apartment playing cards with all of us.

More Beach Exploration

This morning, we all went down to the town's plaza (Balcon de Europa) and discovered another beach.

We got to the beach by walking down a lot of stairs from the plaza.

LG, of course, came prepared with her bucket and shovel/spade.

We all had lunch at a nice restaurant overlooking the beach,

and then our little family headed home for nap time.  When LG woke up from her nap, she kept saying, "My beach, my beach!"  So, we all went out again to see "her" beach from the day before.

She still doesn't know what to think about the water, but she loved digging in the sand again.  :)

The Beach!

LG, of course, woke up with the sun this morning, so our little family headed out to town to explore, find an ATM/cash machine, and take a look at the beach.  We did not even make it to the beach before LG found a nice sandy area and started playing with her shovel/spade and pail that we found at a gift shop for her.

Here is the lovely beach we found.

Later in the afternoon after nap time, all 5 of us headed out to enjoy the beach.

LG is not too sure about the water, but her swimmies gave her a little more confidence when she went in with Daddy the second time.

It seems like she really loves digging in the sand, though.  :)
