Stretchy Socks

Palm Sunday

Today LG wore a dress that her grandmother made for her mother and a bib that her great grandmother made for her. She also wore real leather shoes for the first time! It was very cold today, though, so she was very bundled up with a sweater and coat for church.

She loves church, by the way. She sits up on my lap during the music, and sometimes she sings. Sadly, the sermon time is not here favorite. Sometimes she takes a nap, but it's not unusual for her to get a little fussy during that time. But...who can blame her. Sometimes I get a little fussy during the sermon time, too! :)

New Chair

Some friends are letting us borrow this chair for Little Girl. It's great because she can sit up all by herself in it! Isn't she so cute in her little chair? :)

Spring Daffodils

The daffodil is THE sign of spring here. We went to the park today to get some pictures of them.

First Ever Visit To A Museum

Today we took Little Girl to her first ever museum. We went to the Victoria and Albert Museum which is a great museum that has a variety of interesting exhibits. We went to see the quilt exhibit but ended up seeing the silver and gold exhibits. Little Girl enjoyed the museum. She talked during part of the visit, and she especially enjoyed anything that was sparkly. She also took a nice nap while there. On the way there, LG made friends with a French lady on the tube. Numerous people stopped to talk to her in the museum, and on the way home a group of ladies from Spain oohed and ahhed over her. Can you tell I am a proud mommy? Here are some pictures of our day out.

Crib Update

New Big Girl Crib

Little Girl got all her stuff from America yesterday! The very first thing we put together was her crib, which she has never seen or been in before. So...today, she took all her naps in it. We will see if she sleeps in it tonight. I think she just might. She seems to really like it!

Spring is Here!

Today the family took a walk in the park next to our flat. The crocus were in bloom, and even though the park still looks a bit gray...spring is just around the corner!

Mothering Sunday

Today was "Mothering Sunday" or "Mother's Day" as we say back home. Before we headed out to church, LG and I got some great Mother/Daughter photos...and, of course, just some cute photos of little LG.

Three More Things...

Little Girl has started chewing on everything now a days. She especially likes "Mr. Froggy."




















She also has started pulling up her right trouser (you don't say "pant" over here) leg constantly.




















Tonight she started holding her right foot!

4 Months Old

Today Little Girl is 4 months old! We took her by the GP and had her weighed, and she is 13lbs. 4 oz. We also filled out the information to get her own shot record and weigh book for this country.

I like the way that she is weighed here. You just bring your little one to the GP on the two days of the week when they weigh. There are lots of other moms and babies, and there are three baby nurses to answer any questions you may have. Sadly, they do not measure the babies, so B and I measured LG, and it looks like she is still 2 feet. :)

LG started rolling onto her side last week. When I checked on her one night, she was sleeping on her side. She has also started talking in the middle of the night. Last Thursday she woke up at 3am and talked until 4am. We have a video of this, so I will have to post it soon.

Here are her official 4 month old pictures. I realize now that she looks kind of like a boy. Originally, she had on another outfit that was cute and girly. This was her second outfit of the morning. Never the less, she gave us more smiles this month during our photo shoot...and, of course, a silly photo, too! :)

News

LG got another round of shots yesterday. We really like the nurse at the doctor's office where we have registered. Here they call the doctor's office the "GP"...short for "general practitioner." It's very different from back home. They did not examine LG or weigh and measure her. This visit was just for her shots. If I want her weighed, I have to go back on a Tuesday or Thursday. (Shots are always on Wednesdays.) She will not be examined unless she is sick. Also, they do not provide band-aides (plasters) when they give shots. Apparently, you have to bring them with you. But...the nurse was very nice and seemed knowledgeable about the different shot schedule that we have back home. She is going to check into whether or not I can get the shots she would have gotten in the States here.

Since LG got a shot in both legs, she was pretty miserable the rest of the day. Thankfully, we thought to bring Tylenol with us to give to her. She was not offered any at the GP. Here is a picture of her on Tuesday, when she was feeling her normal happy self. :)




PS. Our stuff from France arrives tomorrow!!!!!!

Morning Person

LG is definitely a morning person! And, no, she doesn't sleep with us. We just laid her down while we were getting ready.
