Tea Party With Grandma

Today LG had a tea party with Grandma through Skype!  The wonders of modern day technology!

See how happy the tea party with Grandma made LG!

Carrots!

Today LG (and her doll) picked some carrots from our garden.

Then she helped me clean them (with her bowl and spoon) and cook them.  When she splashed some water on the floor, she helped me clean up the splash.  While we were cleaning we sang the "Tidy Up" song off her favorite tv show "I Can Cook."  She really does love to cook!  (Sadly, after all of that, she still wouldn't eat the carrots.)

Fun Day At The Animal Rescue Park

Today LG and I took Daddy to the animal rescue park that we visited a couple of months ago.  LG had a great time again.  She was even more interested in the animals than she was before!  She loved making animal sounds to all the animals.  (You will note that she is wearing my socks again.)

Of course, after we saw the animals, LG loved playing on the playground!  Here she is playing in a miniature castle.

City Fox

Surprisingly, foxes are everywhere in our city.  I've walked down the sidewalk/pavement with one before.  We had a family of them that lived under our apartment/flat window.  Today, we were in the city, and we saw one enjoying the shade.  LG loved the fox!!!  We had to stop her from going up to pet it.

At one point during the day, B left to get some work done.  LG and I were playing and having a good time, when suddenly, LG looked up and said, "Where's Dada?"  It took me a bit to understand what she was saying, but she persisted and after saying it about 5 times, I finally got it.  How sweet! She loves her Dada.  :)

Socks

I bought new socks this week, but I haven't been able to wear them yet.  LG has claimed them as hers. She can put them on herself! :)

(They are ankle socks by the way.  That's why they are only knee socks on LG.)

A Cold Day In July

It was cold this morning, but that didn't stop LG from having a good time.  She played with her baking things, and she enjoyed Daddy reading to her in a Celtic language.

Narnia and Rock

I was honored this evening to be invited to my friend Becca's year 6 (5th grade) performance of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.  Becca played Lucy!  She did awesome!!!!  This was the most entertaining and engaging school play I have ever seen!  The music for the play was all popular music that some how fit in with the story.  The kids sang, "Ice, Ice Baby"when they were introducing the Snow Queen, a heavy metal song during the battle, and Elton John's "Sacrifice" before Aslan gave his life, plus much, much more.  Loved it!

Fencing Daddy

I know everyone wants to know how Daddy is doing with his fencing classes that LG gave him for Father's Day.  He's doing great!!!!

Farm Day

Today our friends down the street invited us to an activity farm created for kids.  LG loved it!  She rode a tractor ride "neigh"-e" at a horse, thought about milking a cow, had fun walking around the animal competition field, "baaa"-ed at the sheep, "oink"-ed at the pigs, stared at the pigeons with her friend Leo, wondered what to say to the lamas, enjoyed washing her hands at all the hand washing stops (a new favorite at home, as well), going down the slide with Leo, and riding the carousel (once with Mommy and once by herself)!  There were still so many other things to do that we didn't have time to do.  LG and I hope to bring Daddy here on a day that we can spend lots of time doing everything.

20 Months!

Today was a big day!  Not only did LG turn 20 months old, but Mommy had a choir concert in the city!

Here is LG's birthday picture.

We all went into the city in the morning so that we could find the church I was singing in, eat lunch, and then let Daddy and LG listen to Mommy practice since the concert didn't actually start until after LG's bedtime.  We found the church alright, and then we had to look for some place to eat.  Guess what we found?  A hamburger shop named after Daddy!  It had great food and A&W root beer and cream soda!  Sadly, LG did not like her chicken burger.  It was marinated in lots of garlic!  Why would you do that to a kid's burger?  Anyway, since she didn't like the chicken, she ate the bun...and the French fries!  This is the first time she has ever tried fries and liked them.  :)

After our yummy lunch, we went back to the church for my practice.  Sadly, the practice started late, so LG was too tired to stay for it, but we did get a picture.

Oh, and the concert went well later that night!

Surprise!

Today LG (and her family) got a surprise!  LG's buddy Gloria stopped by to give LG her tricyle/trike that she had outgrown!!!!  As you can tell, LG is thrilled!

Toys

LG has lots of toys.  We have been desperately trying to figure out what to do with them all so that we are not stepping on them and being surrounded by them all the time.  So...today we went to Ikea and bought a big plastic box with wheels on it.  We also bought under the bed boxes (which is what I originally had in mind), but they would not fit under LG's crib/cot.  The big plastic box works well, though, for the living room/lounge.  Here is a picture of LG organizing everything and putting it away.  :)

After we cleaned up, LG's best little buddy Maya came over to play.  They had a fun time racing around the house with the pram and pushchair/stroller.  :)

Happy 4th ...For Real!

Today we went to the park with some American neighbors who we got to know better at our party Saturday.  LG and Leo had a great time bouncing on the bouncy castle, sliding down slides, riding on a see-saw, and riding in the plastic cars.  (It was so cute watching LG and Leo play.  LG is 6 months older than Leo, she she helped him get up the slide.  She watched his mom grab his back pockets to pull him up the steps to the slide, so LG did the same thing!)

Later in the day, LG and I visited another 4th of July bbq while Daddy was off fencing.  After the bbq I was putting LG to bed, and she ran over to her nightstand and picked up her Bible and said, "Bible!"  She wanted me to read her a Bible story (which we do every night before bed).  What a sweet new word.  :)
