The Wedding

Today was the big day for the event of the year...the royal wedding!  Our family and another family decided that we wanted to take our kids into the city so that they could say they were there.  We got up early, and we assumed that we would just get into the city, experience some of the atmosphere, and then turn around and come home.  We figured that it would be just too packed to actually stay and watch part of the wedding.  Happily, we were wrong!

Public transport was not very crowded going into town.  When we arrived, there were lots of people passing out flags and para-scopes.  Our friends bought us an official wedding program!  We followed the crowds and ended up walking into a park where there was a big screen set up with news coverage of the event as it was happening.  We decided to sit down and watch a bit of it, and before we knew it, we were surrounded with people and the park was closed off, and no one else was allowed to enter it!  We though, "Well, we are here; let's watch part of the wedding!"  So we watched the bride walk down the aisle, and then we got permission from the security guards to leave, so that we could make it back on public transport before the rush of people joined us.  It was amazing and so much fun!

LG enjoyed being there with her best friends.  Every time the crowd cheered and waved their flags, LG did the same!   She loved waving that flag!  I am so glad that she can say that she was there for this historical event!

Dressing

LG has started trying to dress and undress herself.  She is very determined and gets very upset if she requires help.  :)

A Fun Day

This morning, LG decided it would be fun to try on Mommy's shoes!

This afternoon, we got LG a table and chairs from Freecycle.  She has enjoyed coloring and reading books at the table.  She has also enjoyed climbing in and out of the chair.

Big Rocks

Today was the sad day that we took our friend to the airport to go home.  :(

After we said our goodbyes, we made a spur of the moment decision to go on a little sightseeing trip!

LG was having such a great time that she didn't want to sit for a picture.  She loved walking around, watching the nearby sheep, and listening to Mommy's audio guide.  :)

When we got home, LG had a fun time practicing climbing up the stairs!

Happy Easter!

After a wonderful Easter service and relaxing afternoon, my friend and I popped into the city for one last night of fun before she leaves in the morning.  Can you guess what we did?  We went to see a play by a very famous playwright in a reconstruction of his theatre!

A Day Out

This morning we went into the city to go to a market and shop for a wedding mug.

We enjoyed the market, and I found my mug, but LG had the most fun afterwords when we toured the grounds of a nearby palace.  She loved walking with Daddy.

And she loved playing in a Peter Pan themed playground that was on the grounds.

On the way home, Daddy let her ride on his shoulders!

Last Day in Paris

Today we got up early and headed to Notre Dame. While my friend climbed to the top of the cathedral, LG toured the inside and then played on the outside playground.

We then headed over to the Louvre.  LG needs to be a bit older to appreciate this museum, so we left my friend to it, and B, LG, and I went to the Christian bookstore nearby to buy LG a French book.  LG also took a nap!

After all the fun was over, we headed back to the train station and went home.  What a great vacation!

Paris!

Today we got up extra early and took the train to Paris!

Strolled down the Seine River.

Took a boat ride.

LG saw La Tour Eiffel for the first time.

Then we went to our hotel (look how close it is to the Eiffel Tower!) so LG could take a nap.

Then we took LG on her first carousel ride.  She loved it!

I bought LG a baret, and she twirled in front of the Eiffel Tower.

After LG went to bed, my friend and I went up the Eiffel Tower...

watched the sunset...

and saw the Eiffel Tower at night.  It was a hot and busy day, but a perfect day.  :)
