Animals While Shopping

Today, LG and I went shopping with our French friend, Marie.  Since she is an au pair, she enjoyed entertaining LG while Mommy focused on getting some important shopping done.  Of course, since there were farm animals visiting the shops today, entertaining LG was not difficult.  :)

Playing and Cooking...

For LG, they are one in the same.

LG started the day by playing with her toy garage.  She is quite musical and chatty when playing.

Later, we cooked a nice hamburger, bean, and rice dish.  LG liked cooking it, and...

she liked eating it!

Daddy's Office

If I can't find LG, I know that she has escaped to Daddy's office.  Daddy's office not only has fun Daddy in it, it also has fun Daddy toys...like a basketball.  :)

Track Suit Girl

Little Miss LG really got into the fact she was wearing a track suit/sweat suit today.  She enjoyed running from the living room to the guest room again and again and again.  :)

This evening we went to the airport to pick up our French friend Marie.  On the way home, B shouted, "Dude!" at a crazy driver.  What did LG do?  She shouted, "Dude!" too!

Goodbye, Holiday!

Today was a sad, sad day.  Today is the day we left Ireland and came home.  :(

When we got up, B and I took LG down the road to say goodbye to the animals.

Then we took a picture with our friends, and we piled in the car for the long trip to the airport.  Once again, LG enjoyed making animal noises to all the animals we passed.

When we arrived at the airport, we said our goodbyes and then stood in the forever line to check-in.  After we passed through the check-in and security, we were then charged an airport improvement fee!  Highway robbery!  When we finally got to settle down and find a seat to wait to board, LG started talking to herself.  She raised her pointer finger, and with a look that would make anyone ashamed, she said, "No!  No, no, no!"  The lady sitting across from us asked, "Is this her first word?"  I couldn't believe LG did this!  I've never seen her do this before.  I wonder where she learned it?  Something she did learn on holiday was the word, "Hi!" and how to roll her arms like you do for patty cake.  D taught her these two things.

When we finally boarded the plane, LG fell asleep just like last time.  We had a long drive from the airport home, but it sure is nice to come home to a very clean house.  Our house guests who were staying here in our absence left it spotless.  They actually left in quite a rush because they all came down with a stomach bug.  Here's hoping that all their cleaning destroyed any residual bug!

We Love Ireland!

This morning LG woke up ready to go...literally!  After I changed her nappy/diaper, she jumped up, put on her coat and wellies, and headed to the front door.  The problem was that she didn't have any clothes on yet,...

and we weren't going to see the donkeys and horses quite yet.  We were going swimming!

I couldn't get LG to leave the hallway, so I brought her swimsuit to her in the hall.  She did not leave the hall until the rest of us were ready to go.  She wanted to go, go, go!

So, W, Daddy, LG, and I all went to the local pool, which was great!  There was a good size kiddy pool attached to the big person pool, and it was nicely heated.  The lady at the front desk gave LG a ball to play with, so LG had a fun time throwing the ball to Daddy and W in the big person pool.  She even eventually got brave enough to leave the top step of the kiddy pool and walk around the pool holding my hand!  Yeah, LG!

After we returned home for lunch and a LG nap, D, Daddy, LG, and I walked down the road with some carrots for the donkeys.  LG was so excited!!!!!!!!!  She just loves animals.

After we fed the donkeys, we slowly walked home so that LG could eat blackberries along the side of the road.  It's so funny, she would not even attempt to taste the berries I picked for her back home, but here she discovered them for herself, and she is addicted!

We shall be so sad to leave tomorrow.  I love Ireland (and our hosts)!

Another Fun Day

Today was a day of wardrobe changes.  LG got up early and wanted to visit her friends the donkeys and horses down the road.  So that is what we did.

Later D and I went to town to buy what we needed to throw the guys a birthday party.  August is their birthday month, and their birthdays are close.  We got a frantic call asking where diapers where, so when we returned, LG had obviousely been changed into a new outfit.  :)  I'm so glad I packed this dress, and LG got to run around in Ireland in it!

This evening we celebrated with the boys.  Not only did they have a lovely cake, but we had an awesome dinner!  We had an American breakfast...buscuits, Chick-fil-a-ish chicken, and sausage!

A Cute Day

This morning LG got up and was ready to go exploring.  She grabbed her purse/handbag, and she started picking flowers and collecting rocks.  Then she went trekking...climbing close to the wall and traipsing through foliage.  She was a true adventurer!

After lunch, all of us but W, went into town again and enjoyed a good look around.  When we returned home, D read LG her new book that is in the local language.  LG loved it!

Then, W had a little photo shoot of LG.  Isn't she a cutey!

Beans, Beach, and Birds

A couple of mornings ago, D offered baked beans to LG for breakfast (yes, that is normal here).  Well, for good or for bad, LG loved the idea of beans for breakfast, and she has refused to eat anything but beans for breakfast since then.  She is snubbing her nose at yogurt, cereal, but not fruit, thankfully.  In fact, she has rediscovered bananas!!!!  Yeah!  She hasn't eaten those in months!

Even though it was a rainy morning, B, LG, and I all headed out to the beach to have a little Sunday service.  Thankfully, the rain stopped by the time we got to the local beach.  Sadly, this beach was a regular old beach with sand, and LG was not very impressed.  She preferred to climb all over the rocks.  So, we didn't get to sit as a family and read scripture, but B and I both took turns watching the little rock climber, so we could each read a bit on our own.

On the way home, right as we were almost to the house, it started raining buckets!  B picked up LG, and we all ran, ran, ran!  W saw us from inside the house, and he opened the door and rushed out to see if we were ok.  He thought something horrible had happened.  :)  No.  We just didn't want to get any more wet than we were.  LG thought the running in the rain was wonderful, and she laughed, and laughed, and laughed.  She was not pleased to have to come indoors.

Later, after lunch and after the rain was gone for good, we all decided to go into town and feed the birds the stale bread we had on hand.  LG watched with fascination and trepidation at the amazing amount of birds that flocked to W with the bread.  I think we all felt the same.  :)

After feeding the birds, we walked around town and enjoyed the buskers (street performers).  LG loves music, and she was not happy when it was time to move away from the street musicians.  She did have a good time walking around and looking at everything, though.

I have decided that it was pointless for us to bring our stroller with us because LG much prefers to walk now.  :)

Or be carried.  ;)

Our friend W took the black and white pictures.  Aren't they great!
