A Summer Day at the Park

Today it was in the 90's!!!!!!  So...to celebrate we took LG to a new park.  She had a great time with Daddy, while Mommy found a bench in the shade.  Boy, do I feel pregnant!  I had a great time talking to other parents who were taking a break from the heat.

This morning we all had doctor appointments at our new GP.  I've been advised to get a better GP since I might need him while I am pregnant.  So far so good.  It was nice to relax at the park in the afternoon.

Enjoy all the great pictures!

Olympic Interview

Today B was interviewed to be a chaplain at the Olympics which we be held here next summer!  B said that there were a lot of people there, and he wasn't asked the questions that he had prepared for, but he is hopeful he will be offered a position.  Wouldn't that be cool?!

First Appointment

Today was our first appointment with a doctor to confirm that I am pregnant!  I expected a blood test or something, but instead a pee test was given, which is what I did at home.  The doctor gave me a due date of 30 April, which I had also figured out from the internet.  The doctor seems nice, though.  She was recommended to me by a friend who had a c-section.  I will need a c-section again, as well, so we decided to go the private medical route to guarantee that I will be given a c-section.

I will be delivering at this hospital, which is older than the USA.  It has had a lot of interesting history.  You can read about it here.  It took us about an hour by public transport to get to the hospital, and it was not the easiest thing with LG.  She was really good about it all, though, and she enjoyed playing with the maze toy in reception/the lobby while we waited for our doctor, who was late.

We asked at all the nursing stations about our doctor and our appointment, and no one seemed to know about us.  One nurse even had us call the doctor's secretary, and she didn't know about us!  This really scared us, but we have now learned that since we are private patients, we will never be on any appointment books.  Appointment books are for those who use the national insurance.

Anyway, it was an interesting day.  It wasn't at all what we expected, but we are happy to have now seen a doctor.  :)

New Chair and Beautiful Smiles

Today we got a new high chair for LG from Freecycle, a great website that people offer things they don't want anymore for free.  This chair is perfect for LG because it brings her right up to the table with Mommy and Daddy.

We also had a fun time taking pictures of LG's beautiful smile.

Fun At Church

English class has started up again at church today, which means LG gets to have lunch with friends in the lobby and then run around with all her international friends during class.  Fun times!  (Of course, I have fabulous video, but I have decided that blogger no longer supports video unless you upload it to youtube first, which I refuse to do, so until things change, photo will have to do.)

Fun With Friends

Today we spent the afternoon visiting with our neighborhood friends.  These are the kids that LG loves the most, and they are the kids that she prays for each night.  All 4 of us families are from different countries, so we call ourselves the mini-UN.  Just look at the fun we had!  (PS.  I'm starting to feel the 1st trimester yuckies, so it was hard to keep up the pace today.  Thankfully, I've told one of my friends so she helped make it a little easier for me.)

Brazilian Bubble Suit

One of LG's best friend's is Brazilian.  Since she is a year older, she sometimes passes down her cute clothes from Brazil.  Today LG wore her cute little bubble suit from her friend.  We tried out a new activity called Rhythm and Rhyme at the children's center, and LG was a hit because of her outfit!  Everyone thought she looked like she was wearing one of the trendy 70's looking jump suits that are popular for women here.  :)

When we got home, we had a snack,...

played outdoors in the windy weather, and...

then LG decided to make a bed in the conservatory and take a pretend nap.  :)

Fashion Foward Sunday

Today was a very fashion foward Sunday.  You may think LG put on her wellies just to go outside, but you would be wrong.  She wore them all day long, even this morning to church!  Maybe it was her way of telling us that she would rather be in the back garden/yard with Daddy picking fruit, feeding the fish, and having a good time.  :)

22 Months!

Today LG is 22 months old!

We celebrated by going to the park with her good friend Maya and playing in the soft play area.

On the way there, we saw the milk truck!

Eggcups and Cleaning Up

I think I have mentioned before how much LG loves drinking out of her eggcup.

Have I also mentioned how much LG likes to put things up!  Yeah!!!!

Rhyme Time & Squeaky Shoes

LG loves going to story time each week at the local library.  It's called "Rhyme Time" mainly because there is only one short story, and the rest of the time is taken up with action songs, playing instruments, and playing with scarfs and a parachute.

LG loves all of this, although she normally sits in my lap most of the time, and rarely sings at the library.  When she gets home she loves to sing and do all the motions.  Of course, though, she loves all the "stuff" at Rhyme Time.  She loves the bells, the shaker, the scarf, the parachute, and the bubbles.

It's a big deal about taking pictures of children who are not your own, so I had to sneak this photos, but I really wanted you to see how much LG loves her library experience.

Grandma sent LG squeaky shoes in the mail yesterday.  LG and I love them.  B thinks that his mom is trying to give him a headache.  :)  Needless to say, LG wanted to wear her squeaky shoes to the library today.  I didn't really think that through.  Needless to say, this is what happened at the library after Rhyme Time.

On the way home, I let LG out of her stroller, and she ran and ran and ran.  Here she is having fun with her squeaky shoes.  :)

(video to come, hopefully)
