Party and Garden

Today was the day of the baby shower I've been planning for a while.  I think it went well, although I couldn't find my camera to take pictures, and no one else brought a camera.  Everyone had a good time, but LG had an especially good time!  One mom brought her little boy who is exactly the same age as LG.  LG and the little boy played, and played, and played together outside.  I have never seen her engage with another child so much!  They kicked the ball to each other, they picked up apples and passed them back and forth to each other, and they laughed and laughed and laughed.  One time when I heard them laughing, I turned to look, and what do you think they were doing?  The little boy had driven the car into the garden plot.  He was still sitting on the car.  LG had picked up a spade, and had dug up most of the spring onions, and was dumping them (dirt and onions) on the boy and the car!  They both just laughed and laughed thinking it was the best thing.  Of course, LG and the boy were both wearing their Sunday best since they were at a party.  Thankfully, the boy's mom thought it was funny, too.

When the party was over, I let LG pull up some carrots (since she was already a filthy mess).  She had a fun time "cooking"/washing the carrots.  By the end of it, she was filthy AND wet.  It was at this moment that an old school friend of B's showed up with his wife.  We had never met his wife before.  What a wonderful first impression I am sure we gave with our daughter covered in mud and in her Sunday best.  :)
