Portraits and Other News

Today we all got up bright and early to get ready to have family portraits made.  We received a free portrait from our cell phone/mobile company, so I was excited to finally have a studio portrait made of the whole family.

Sadly, I was very disappointed with the photographer.  He's one of these new types of photographers who just has a white background.   There are no props or chairs, so you end up sitting on the floor or laying on the floor.  He gave no directions.  He just waited for us to perform.  He also kept getting in LG's face trying to make her loosen up...not a good idea.  Anyway, needless to say, we did not get a family photo.  We ended up getting a free picture of LG running because at the end, she finally did loosen up, and she just ran around the room a lot.  I would have liked to have gotten a couple of other photos for the grandparents, but the cheapest photo was 75 GBP!  Can you believe that?!  No way!

In other news, before we went to the photographers, I decided to take a pregnancy test.  I bought one as an after thought earlier in the week while I was buying a new pair of blue jeans at the local equivalent to Wal-mart.  I figured that I was just gaining a little weight, but low and behold (!) I am pregnant!  This is great news (and the reason I have been so behind in blogging for a while now), but now I have to figure out the medical system, and I am not looking forward to that.  There are plenty of horrible birth stories that have happened in this country from friends of mind.  We, of course, will keep this pregnancy to ourselves until after the first trimester.  LG is going to be a big sister!
