We all got up at 5am (one of her normal early morning eating times) to get ready for the 9am rendez-vous. It was her first car ride since she came from the hospital. She slept through most of it and seemed to like the motion and noise of the car. Despite having a hard time finding the doctor's office, we were among the first of the "well," appointments. At this office there is a waiting room divided into "sick," and "well, " reception areas.

The doctor looked her over, and Little Girl has an umbilical hernia. It sounds worse than it really is. The doctor said the hole is pretty small and probably will not require surgery, that it will close up on its own. The doctor is monitoring the healing. The only repercussion is she may have an outie belly button, but that's not so bad.
The only other prob
Afterward, we actually went through the drive through at Backyard Burger and ate our lunch quickly in the car. We then went to Walgreens to have Little Girl's passport pictures made. She was so good and slept through the whole exciting ordeal while the folks at Walgreens called to find out all the infant passport photo requirements and figured out a way to take her picture on the photo center counter covered in a backdrop of white t-shirts. Next, we went over to the grandparents for awhile before heading home. We were pretty exhausted and went to bed at 6:30pm.
I will have to say that it looks like our baby will be an easy traveling baby with all the running around we did on our first day out iin the world in two weeks.


what a great passport story!..now is that a sugar loaded loolipop she has tucked in her hand?!! tsk.tsk.tsk! My sister-in-law still laughs at how VV had a suger free cake for her 1st birkday..the apple cloud cake from the Moosewood Cookbook. but with xmas around the corner it is hard for us al1 ! Merry Xmas she is beautiful.
